Whether you’re missing an individual tooth or several teeth, dental implants are an ideal solution. They look and function like natural teeth and can last a lifetime with the right care.
A tooth implant is made of a metal post and a porcelain crown. The post acts as an anchor point for the new tooth, and actually fuses with the underlying bone during the healing process.
Guided surgery is one of the most advanced ways to carry out the treatment. The structures of the mouth are digitally scanned and any concerns identified early (such as bone loss). A cast is then made, from which your dentist can check and adjust the procedure if necessary, before carrying it out – helping make treatment faster, less invasive, and with a quicker recovery time.
At our practice, you can expect:
The procedure can make the overall treatment faster and more successful, helping to avoid any complications. That’s because the scanning and casts used are of your exact smile.
It’s a more precise procedure and allows for more control than a ‘freehand’ procedure. This is because the technology used allows for a clear, thorough assessment before the procedure is carried out.
Dental implants have a success rate of over 90%, with guided surgery significantly contributing to this percentage.
Owing to the precise nature of the treatment, you could benefit from a shorter recovery time, less post-operative swelling and pain, and a more precise outcome.

An impression or scan is taken to create a 3D picture of your mouth, teeth and gums. This, along with a cast, is then used to show its inner structures and allow for more accurate placement of the implant.
Your tooth implant metal post will be placed first, followed by the crown after healing. A temporary crown can be worn during this period. We also offer local anaesthetic during the surgery, to minimise discomfort.
Dental implants have an extremely high success rate, however some side-effects may be experienced, such as pain and swelling. These can often be mitigated with over-the-counter pain relief.
